Mark Dantzler

G. Mark Dantzler, 82, of Columbia, passed away on June 18, 2023. He was born on July 10, 1940 in Holly Hill, South Carolina. He was the son of Marvin M. Dantzler and Muriel Young Dantzler. Mark was a graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School class of 1958 and attended the University of South Carolina. He served his country in the United States Air Force. His career was in sales of heavy equipment. He retired as VP with Interstate Equipment Company in quality control, purchasing, and sales. Mark loved to read, garden, and shag. He loved to travel and spend time at the beach and on the lake. He was an avid Gamecock fan. Mark is survived by his daughter, Annette D. Sease (Dean); his grandchildren, Gage Sease and Addisyn Sease; his sisters, Ramona Lanier (Jack), and Patricia Richardson; and his sister-in-law, Bonnie Dantzler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and the beloved family dogs, Flash and Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russ Dantzler; brother-in-law Pat Richardson; and nephew Tommy Rivers. Graveside services for Mr. Dantzler will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229) with military honors. The Reverend Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate.
