Georgia L. Cannon

The funeral service for Georgia L. Cannon, 92, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. The Reverend Michael Price will officiate. Mrs. Cannon was born on January 4, 1930, in Ballentine, South Carolina, and passed away on November 9, 2022. She was the daughter of the late George Kaizer Roof and Carrie Alberta Shealy Roof. Georgia was a long-time member of Christ Lutheran Church in Denny Terrace and later at Christus Victor Lutheran Church. Georgia is survived by daughters, Linda Branham (F.L.), and Shirley Nix (Bill); sons, Jimmy Cannon, and Randy Cannon (Becky); daughter-in-law, Margaret Cannon; grandchildren, Troy Branham (Margie), Heath Branham (Julie), Brady Branham, Shannon Kosick (Byron), Scott Nix (Helen), Laura Nix, Lee Ann Nix (Ora Kemp), Ronnie Cannon, Ricky Cannon, Jonathan Cannon, Madison Bashir (Karim), Peyton Cannon; great-grandchildren, Christina Adkins (Ian), Mary Branham, Drew Branham, Libby Branham, Sydney Branham, Brady Branham, Jr., Nicky Kosick, Christopher Nix, Lorelai Nix-Kemp, Leelani Nix-Kemp, Lexie Dorward (Joshua), Jordan Cannon, Dacia Cannon, Ansley Cannon, Karim Bashir IV, and Kayden Bashir. And a great-great granddaughter, Paisleigh Dorward. Those who preceded her in death besides her parents, where her late husband, Claude E. “Charlie” Cannon; a son, Ronnie Cannon; her brothers, Monroe Roof and Hampton Roof, and sisters, Hertalene Meetze, Alberta Coffey, Blondell Cannon, and Catherin Roof.
