George Allen Robertson

George Allen Robertson, 71, of Columbia, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023. George was born in Covington, VA, in 1951. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Virginia Tech. George had a long career as a nuclear engineer for South Carolina Electric and Gas. He has resided in Columbia since 1983 and raised his family here. He was a devoted father and granddaddy. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids and grandchildren. When he wasn’t with family, he could be found on the golf course or working on projects around the house. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ann; daughters, Amy (Colin) Barth and Beth (William) Blackwell; son George Allen (Andi) Robertson; grandchildren, John, Luke, Sydney, Andrew, Emma, Ryan, and Walker; sisters Nancy Agee and Teri Pope; and a brother Roy (Rob) Robertson (Cathy). He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy V. Robertson and Pauline P. Gusse. Visitation with the family will be held at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 am followed by Mass at 12:00 noon. A luncheon will be provided in the parish hall following mass. Temples-Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Our Lady of the Hills Capital Campaign.
