LEXINGTON—The funeral service for MSG (Ret.) George Clarence McCoy, Jr., 76, of Lexington will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212, with Pastor Dave Copeland, officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.Burial with full military honors will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Born March 30, 1941 in Varney, WV, he was the son of the late George Clarence McCoy, Sr. and Ida Hatfield McCoy.He had a long distinguished military career and served in Korea, Vietnam, Germany, as well as other posts throughout the United States while in the US Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jane McCoy; son, Gary Reinhart (Emily), daughter, Lori Keyes (David); four grandsons, Graham & Garrett Reinhart and Jake & Tyler Keyes; brothers, Frank (Anita) and David (Diana); sisters, Mildred Bass (Winston) and Martha Harvel (Danny) along with many loving nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Vernon, Lonnie, Larry and a sister, Linda Lott. In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials by made to the building fund at Northwood Baptist Church, PO Box 2634, Lexington, SC 29071. The family would like to thank the staff at CLC Congaree and Warriors Walk of Dorn VA Medical Center for their wonderful care.
