IRMO—Funeral services for George Scott Bollinger, 49, of Irmo will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 1918 Shady Grove Road, Irmo, SC 29063. Officiating will be Reverend Ben Herlong.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Pallbearers will be Scotty Proctor, Ashton “Turtle” Miles, Brett Hipp, David Koon, Kenny Lee and Jerry Hubbard.Honorary Pallbearers will be Bunyon Bundrick, John Metz, Al Butter and Jerry Oglesby. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Mr. Bollinger, beloved husband of Elizabeth Lever Bollinger passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016.Born in Columbia, SC he is the son of Marie Bailey Bollinger and the late George Voight Bollinger. He retired after 20 years with SCDOT where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, the Aiken Antique Power Association and Spring Hill Young Farmer’s Association.He had a love for Antique John Deere tractors, heavy equipment and Chevy El Caminos. Surviving in addition to his wife of 28 years, Elizabeth Bollinger; daughter, Kayla “Bink” Bollinger; son, Michael “Bud” Bollinger (Camryn Clements) all of Irmo; sister, Sherrie Bollinger of Chapin; brother, Danny Bollinger (Cindy) of Irmo; nieces and nephews, Amanda, Christopher and Rebekah; and his grand-dog, Bella Girl “Pork Chop” and grand-cat, Joe. Memorials may be made to Spring Hill Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter, 916 Mt. Vernon Church Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
