Gary Robert Jones, 63, of Lexington, was born in Rockford, Illinois to the late Kenneth Robert and JoAnn Jones.Gary graduated from Buchanan High School where he was a three-sport athlete and a proud member of the 1976 Buchanan Bucks state champion basketball team.Gary went on to play basketball for Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa before attending Life Chiropractic College and graduating as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1981.Under the loving direction of his father Dr. KR Jones, Gary moved to Columbia where he practiced chiropractic until his passing.He was a member of SCCA for over 30 years.And South Carolina Chiropractic Assoc. Golf Committee for over 15 years. A lifelong athlete, Gary had three loves in his life, family, friends, and golf.He was the Ponderosa County Club Senior Champion 2020 and 2021. Gary achieved one of his lifelong dreams when he made a hole-in-one at Eagle Nest Golf Course, N. Myrtle in 2008. Gary did not have friends he had brothers! He truly never met a stranger and always had a kind word to say. Gary never missed the opportunity to spend time with his family.His love for his family was strong and never-ending.He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. KR Jones, his mother, JoAnn Jones, brother, Randall Jones, brother, Steve and his wife, Brenda Jones, and niece, Haley Grace Wilkins.Gary Leaves behind a brother, Dr. Bill Jones; sister, Kristin Jones Wilkins, and Dr. Kathryn Jones McCaw (Sam); nieces and nephews, Kinsi Near (Chris), Mercedes Stone (Austin), Dr. Pierce Jones, Charlotte Jones, Oscar McCaw, John McCaw, Lea McCaw, and the one he took under his wing North Kenneth Wilkins; great-nieces and nephews, Lucy and Maggie Near, Riggs and Henry Stone. The large and loving family bids farewell to a truly one of a kind. God Bless you Gary and may He carry you to your family in Heaven. There will be a Celebration of Life at Ponderosa Country Club, 190 Durango Drive, Batesburg-Leesville, SC 29070 from 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022.
