Freddie "Eddie" Wells Haselden

Freddie “Eddie” Wells Haselden, 80, of Irmo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Born on November 23, 1944, in Dillon, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Edgar and Eva Berry Haselden.

A member of Latta Baptist Church, Eddie also served as a former Vice President of the Latta Jaycees. He enjoyed his time working for HUD Housing and at Woods Edge as a superintendent for over 20 years. He later continued his career with Winnsboro Petroleum in customer service for an additional 20 years. Eddie was a friendly face who made others feel welcomed and appreciated. Known for his hardworking nature, he was always ready to lend a hand with any task or repair.

Eddie was a proud and passionate Clemson Football fan, and his love for the outdoors led him to become an avid fisherman on Lake Murray. He also enjoyed gardening and cherished the time spent with his family, especially on trips to Maggie Valley and at the beach.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was predeceased by his sons Anthony Haselden and Dean Black III, as well as his brother, Jimmy Haselden, and his sister, Shirley Lewis.

Those who will treasure his memory include his loving wife of 34 years, Nealie “JoAnne” Haselden of Irmo; his sister, Margie Wiggins (Vernie) of Summerville; and his children, Russell Kim Haselden of Lexington, Amy Haselden of Columbia, and Amanda Bullock (James) of Lexington. His grandchildren include Tyler Haselden, Cecily Haselden, Jade Haselden, Abby Haselden, Parker Bullock, Maybree Bullock, and his great-grandchildren, Brantley, Everleigh, Noah, and Wylder.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in the Chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina, 29212, with Reverend Bill Haselden officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Eddie will be remembered for his devotion to the things that brought him joy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
