Columbia—A Graveside service for Frances Wilkinson McCord, 86, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2021, in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.The Reverend Brett DeYoung will officiate. Frances was born in Edinburg, MS on June 26, 1934, to the late Richard Hanks Wilkinson and Eddie Lee Boatner Wilkinson.She passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, surrounded by her children.Frances was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.She was a loving caretaker of her husband in his final years.Frances was “Poppy” to her grandchildren and many others.She enjoyed her time working at Irmo High School. Surviving is her daughters, Pamela L. Ketchum (David), and Melanie L. Zaccagnini (Jesse); son, William M. “Bill” Mc Cord, Jr. (Sonya); sister, Nancy Wilson; brothers, William Wilkinson, Kenneth Wilkinson, and Carlton Wilkinson; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Mack McCord, Sr.; sisters, Lois Pierce, and Peggy Walker; brother, Charles Wilkinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
