CHAPIN—The funeral service for Frances Adams Helms, 83, of Chapin will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday June 29, 2021 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, located at 5400 Bush River Road Columbia, S.C. 29212.Reverend Dr. Don Brock and Reverend Bill Haselden will officiate.Interment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, S.C. 29212. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Temples Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family. Born in Lancaster, S.C. on September 13, 1937, Fran was the daughter of the late Walter Perry Adams and Azalea Knight Adams.She was married to her late husband Danny Max Helms for 63 years.Mrs. Helms graduated from Lancaster High School in 1955.Fran spent the majority of her career working alongside her husband running the Covenant Road Piggly Wiggly in Columbia.Together, Danny and Fran enjoyed retirement at their home on Lake Murray.Fran’s most cherished times were spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.She will be a forever Gamecock football fan. Fran was a faithful servant of our Lord.During the 1960s and 1970s she was a member of Jackson Creek Baptist Church and later worshiped at Gateway Baptist Church. In her later years she and Danny were members of Riverland Hills Baptist Church. They were involved in Joy Club, Oasis, and the Agape Sunday school class. Fran and Danny were particularly devoted to serving the elderly and widows within their community. Surviving family include Fran’s daughter, Robyn Helms Lorick (David) of Blythewood; and son, David W. Helms, (Christy) of Ballentine. She is also survived by granddaughter, Kaitlyn L. Walsh (Brian) of Murfreesboro, T.N.; grandsons Michael Lorick, Devin L. and Garrison D. Helms; and great-grandchildren, Harding and Sutton Walsh.Last but not least, she leaves behind her loving and faithful dog, Hannah. Those who preceded her in death, include an infant daughter, Danielle; her parents; sisters, Perry Lee Walden and Nellie Fondren; and her dear husband Danny Helms. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, S.C. 29063 and/or The Oliver Gospel Mission, 110 Taylor Street, Columbia, S.C. 29201.
