Flora Porter Weed

The funeral service for Flora P. Weed, 74, of Irmo, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday April 21, 2023, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 1541 Lake Murray Boulevard, Columbia, SC 29212. A burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Reverend Walt Harper will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-6 PM at the funeral home. Flora, beloved wife of the late Willie Horace Weed, Jr., was born on April 17, 1949, in Columbus Ohio. She departed this earthly life on April 17, 2023. Flora was the daughter of the late Lloyd Ellis Porter, Sr., and Maria Danielle Porter. She was a graduate of A.C. Flora High School, class of 1967 as well as Palmer Junior College. Flora was a longtime member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, where she worked in the church nursery and with The Stephen Ministries. Mrs. Weed worked for South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department for 36 years. Survivors include sons, Clinton Daniel (Kelly G.) Weed and Travis Porter (Sarah) Weed. Brother, Lloyd Ellis (Karen) Porter, Jr. Grandchildren; Christian, Jacob, and Ava and Great-Grandchildren, Ava Grace and Adalynn Rose. Those who preceded her in death include her parents and her late husband. Memorials in her honor may be sent to Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
