F. Earle Pope,

F. Earle Pope III, 78, of Chapin passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, surrounded by his family.Earle was born in Winnsboro, SC to the late Frank Earle Pope, Jr. and Betty Brown Pope on August 6, 1943. Earle was a graduate of Greenbrier High School in Fairfield County, SC, and later earned a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Business from USC.He retired after 35 years from South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation. Earle was a great storyteller, a Life Member of the Gamecock Club, attended football, basketball, baseball games, and many Bowl Games.He was also in attendance for both USC College World Series Championship.Earle and his late wife, Sara Ann were members of Westminster Presbyterian Church.He loved to fish with his son and grandchildren.He spent many hours attending his grandchildren’s sporting and dance events. Survivors are his daughter, Michele Beatty (Alan); son, Frank E. Pope IV (Debra); sisters, Betsy Pope Gathright and Mary Pope Cumming (Carl); grandchildren, Trad Beatty, Sarah Joyce Beatty, Ashlyn Beatty, and Briar Pope. Those who preceded him in death included his loving wife of 50 years, Sara Ann Pope, and his parents. A private family graveside service will be held.
