Eva L. Tyson, 97, of Columbia passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024. Born in Morganfield, Kentucky on February 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Roy Dever and Gladys Bartley Dever. During World War II, Eva took on the role of a “Rosie the Riveter” when she joined the fight by working to attach wings to the war planes. She later worked assembling Teletypes and also as a real estate agent for Century 21. Eva enjoyed gardening, team bowling, and traveling in her free time. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and was a was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Eva was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, but was unable to attend regularly due to her declining health. Those left to mourn Eva’s loss include: Her daughter: Linda Larsen (Brian Conlin); grandchildren: John (Jeannette) Schneider, Richard Schneider, James Schneider, Laurie (Darrell) Perry, Jamie (Doug) Schroeder and Donald Larsen; great-grandchildren: Tim (Emily) O’Connelly, and Jim Schneider (Caitlyn); great-great-grandchildren: Gavin and Taylor O’Connelly, Jack, Luke, and Theo Schneider, Jon Schneider, Brynn, Ava, Liam, Nora, and Jack Perry, and Ellie, Lucy, Kohen, and Andre Schroeder. Her daughter: Kathleen (Barry) Peake; grandchildren: Kristal (Kevin) Frey, Stefanie Koblinski, and Bryan Peake; and great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Ethan, and Kaelyn Frey, and Sean and Destiny Koblinski. Her son: Vance (Heidi) Dulin; grandchildren: Bradley (Chris) Dulin and Brian Dulin; great-grandchildren: Colton, Jayna, Brayden, Caleb, and Bradley Dulin, and Caroline Dulin. Her son: Richard (Patricia Page) Dulin; grandchildren: Tricia (Jamie) Wardrup and Gable (Lindsay Davis) Dulin; and great-grandchildren: Mason and Reagan Wardrup and Finley and Davis Dulin. She is also remembered by a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and her longtime companion Charlie Noll, Eva was predeceased by three brothers: Don, Bill, and Tom Dever. A Memorial Service for Eva will be held on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina, 29212. The family will receive friends in the Chapel from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Deacon Tom Souza will officiate.
