Ethel ”Marian” Haselden Webb, age 65, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at her home in Myrtle Beach. Born in Georgetown, South Carolina, on November 24, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Tennyson Kenneth Haselden, Sr. and Thelma Gibson Haselden.
Marian attended Andrews High School and Columbia College. She also took numerous computer classes at various technical schools and seminars and achieved PMP certification. She began her career at Andrews Bank and Trust in operations; later, she worked for Carolina First, now TD Bank, as a main frame operator, a RPG programmer, and developer for banking systems. After leaving the banking business, she retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield in December 2024 where she had served as a project manager for the IT department.
Marian married the love of her life, Gerald Webb, on April 5, 2007, in Venice, Italy. Gerald predeceased her on July 25, 2023. She was also predeceased by her parents; a sister-in-law, Leisa Webb; a brother-in-law, Ronald Webb; and her four-legged children, Anna and Ashley.
Marian is survived by her brother, Kenny Haselden, and his wife Kim of Myrtle Beach; her nephew, Rhett Haselden, his wife Rachel, and their two children, Beckett and Renley. She also is survived by a number of cousins from the Haselden and Gibson families.
In addition, she is survived by members of the Webb family: sisters-in-law, Maxine Webb and Cindy Webb; brother-in-law, Sean Webb and his wife, Jackie; nieces and nephews, Heather (Jeremy), Savannah, Taylor, Jordan (Anna), Donovan, Jesse, Shawna, Mia, Nolan, and Ella.
Marian was totally devoted to the care of her mother and husband before their passing. She was generous, caring, and determined to do what she felt was the right thing to do. After moving to Myrtle Beach, she loved taking pleasure in the sunset each evening, walking on the beach looking for shells, watching boats as they passed on the Intracoastal Waterway behind her house, and riding on the family boat. She learned to play the piano as a child and loved music, which was fostered by attending concerts, preferably rock and roll, whenever possible.
The family will visit with friends at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Temples-Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina, 29212. The service will be held at 2:00 pm and burial will follow. Pastor Justin McGuire will officiate.
