Ernest Collett Rosenthal, 78, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021.He was born on April 11, 1943, to parents Ernest John Rosenthal and Harriet Ellen Jeanne Harris Rosenthal.The funeral service for Mr. Rosenthal will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Christian Life Church, Assembly of God, 2700 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210.The family welcomes you to join them in a time of reflection and prayer between 1-2prior to the service beginning. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Pastor Glenn Burchett will officiate. Mr. Rosenthal served in the armed forces and was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force.After he retired from service, Ernest was the owner and operator of his independent insurance agency.He attended Christian Life Assembly.Ernest was "Colie" to his siblings and parents growing up.Daddy to his children, Grandpa and Papa to his grandchildren, and Grandpa Rose to his great grands. He loved Jesus deeply, Connie beyond imagination, all of his babies, both here and in heaven.His heart was caring for the orphans and advocating for the unborn.He loved to dance, told the best jokes, loved house Chardonnay, his beloved pit bull, Darla, and every day telling his family how much he loved them, and telling everyone he met how much Jesus loved them. Mr. Rosenthal was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. Connie Marie Breci Rosenthal; his sister, Ellen Veracruysse; brother, James Rosenthal; daughters, Jeannie Rosenthal and Emily Grace Rosenthal. Mr. Rosenthal’s family will miss him greatly.He is survived by his daughters, Kim McCleery (William), Jessie Rosenthal, and Abby Rosenthal; his sons, Aaron Rosenthal and Ernest Rosenthal; sister, Mary Fournier; grandchildren, Jacob McCleery, Joshua McCleery, Elise McCleery, Gabriel McCleery, Benjamin McCleery, Liam Rosenthal, and Stormy Rosenthal; and great-grandchildren, Harper McCleery, Wilder McCleery, Ava McCleery, and Charlotte McCleery.
