Elsie J. Hinson- Chapin The graveside service forElsie Jane Hinson (87), formerly of Chapin will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road Columbia, S.C., 29212, the Reverend Brett DeYoung will officiate. The Hinson family will receive friends at the Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel from 12:30-1:45 preceding the graveside service. Mrs. Hinson was born on May 5, 1934, in Lancaster County S.C., and departed this earthly life on December 27, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Chalmers Hinson and Ethel Carnes Hinson. Elsie was a member of White Bluff Baptist Church in Kershaw, S.C. In her later years, she attended both Chapin Baptist as well as White Rock Baptist Church. Elsie was a follower of Jesus Christ and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. To all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Elsie was lovingly known as Nanny. Those left to mourn her death but celebrate her life include daughter, Vickie Lynn Danielson (Rodney) of Newberry, S.C.; son, Brink L. Hinson (Beth) of Columbia, S.C.; daughter, Cindy Keller (Bobby) of Cayce, S.C.; sisters, Shirley Hinson and Judy Yon; brothers, Crawford Hinson (Judy) and James Hinson (Jean); grandchildren, Connor Hinson; Benjamin Hinson; Erica Ellis (James); Melissa Connelly (Jason);and great-grandchildren, Liam Ellis and Everley Connelly. In addition to her parents, those that preceded her in death include her husband, Harry L. Hinson; brother, Bobby Joe Hinson; sisters, Betty Plyler, Juanita Cauthen, and Dorothy Hinson. Memorials in Elsie’s name should be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (Home Office 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor. 17, Chicago, IL 60601) in hopes of a cure for this devastating disease.
