COLUMBIA—The funeral services for Elizabeth “Lib” Britt Meetze,98, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, with Reverend Gary Loadholt, officiating.Interment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens.The visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Lib was born on December 28, 1919, in Columbia, SC. She was the daughter of the late Henry Oscar Britt and Christine Plate Britt. She graduated from the old Columbia High School.Lib was a longtime active member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, member of W.E.L.C.A. and also a member of the Ruth Circle and Lutheran Social Ministry.She was formerly employed as an accountant for Oliver Motor Company and the Ducane Heating Company. Surviving are her daughters, Ann M. Nelson (Larry) of Columbia and Becky M. Clark of Irmo; Brothers, William Britt (Georgetta) of Raleigh, NC and David Britt (Lenora) of Columbia; grandchildren, C.S.M. (Ret.) Billy McClary (Fran)Brian D. McClary, and Lauren C. Willhoit (James); great-grandchildren, Amanda M. Dominick (Graham), Robert William McClary, III (Natalee) and Michael Willhoit; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.Those who preceded her in death, besides her parents, was her late husband, Noah B. Meetze; brother, Henry; sisters, Frances, Mary, Catherine, Dorothy, and Virginia. The family would like to thank her special niece, Karin Huusko as well as her special caregiver, Becca Clark for their wonderful care given to her over the last few years.
