Eleanor Erma Varner

In cherished memory of Mrs. Eleanor Erma (LeMaster) Varner, 94. Beloved wife of the late Mr. Roland Conley Varner.Mrs. Varner was born on June 8, 1925, in Akron, Ohio.Mrs. Varner was given her wings on the evening of January 18, 2020.She was surrounded by family and in the loving care of her only surviving sibling, Ms. Deloris Jean (LeMaster) Pickett.Mrs. Varner is preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Erma Margaret (Scritchfield) LeMaster, father, Mr. Harry Fenton LeMaster; sisters, Mrs. Dorothy May (LeMaster) Kennell, Mrs. Katherine Louise (LeMaster) Rush and one brother, Mr. Clark William LeMaster; also by brothers-in-law, Mr. Hobart Kennell, Jr. (Dutch) and Mr. Arthur Merle Rush.She is survived by her loving sister and caregiver, Ms. Deloris Jean (LeMaster) Pickett.Also survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Willavene Faye LeMaster; four nieces and four nephews and their families. Mrs. Varner was a long-time resident of Columbia, SC and a Faithful volunteer of the Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Gardens for many years.Mrs. Varner was a longstanding member of the Virginia Wingard Memorial United Methodist Church.She had no children of her own but was a loving mama to her many kittens and cats which were one of the great joys of her life.Mrs. Eleanor, as she was known, will be truly missed and always cherished by everyone whose lives she touched. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, January 25, 2020, in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12 noon prior to the service at Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.
