COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Mr. Edward L. Tucker, Sr., 85, of Columbia, will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212, with the Reverend Doc Hanberry officiating. Entombment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Born in Florence, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Ralph E. Tucker and Lois Alford Tucker.He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force.Mr. Tucker was Sales/District Manager for the United Insurance Company of America for 37 years; he was a Mason and formerly attended the Riverland Hills Baptist Church.Mr. Tucker will be remembered as a loving and supportive father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his entire family. Survivors include daughters, Paula Bordner (Tim) of Lugoff, Kathy Epps (Robert) of Camden; son, Edward L. “Ed” Tucker, Jr. (Sandy) of Camden; step-daughters, Gwen Shuler (Ricky) and Angela Daniel (Jay); eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Those who preceded him in death include the mother of his children, Katherine Tucker, second wife, Carlene Sue Tucker, and his twin sister, Evelyn Durr.
