Edward John Faber

COLUMBIA – Edward “Mr. Ed” John Faber, 94, of Columbia passed away on January 2, 2025.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, January 9, 2025, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.

Mr. Ed was born December 28, 1930, in Youngstown, Ohio to John and Elva Faber. He grew up in Hamilton, Ohio helping his parents with their family bakery. After graduating from high school, he served his country proudly as a Radioman in the United States Navy. While he was attending Indiana Tech he met, and married Joyce Williams and they spent the next 66 years together. Mr. Ed was employed by Bendix Corporation and retired from NCR. He was a faithful member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church where he served as an deacon and led devotion at local nursing homes. Mr. Ed was a member of Gideons International and a Ham Radio Operator.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers; John Faber and Bill Faber. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife; Joyce Faber, two sons; Jeffrey Edward Faber, Scott Edward Faber and two grandchildren; Emily Ann Faber, Jacob Scott Faber (Jennings).

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church or to Sharing God’s Love.
