Mrs. Doris Wilson Price, 90, of West Columbia, South Carolina and recently of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on November 2, 2024. Born on August 26, 1934, in Westminster, South Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of the late Walker William Wilson and Janie Lee Crenshaw Wilson. Doris was a devoted Christian and a former member of Saluda River Baptist Church in West Columbia, South Carolina. She dedicated much of her life to the education of children, contributing her time and talents at various churches throughout her community. She also worked as a Death Clerk at Colonial Life Insurance Company from 1981 - 1988. Doris is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Hammonds (Warren); her son, Dr. Wayne Price (Caryl) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and her brother, Laylon Wilson (Betty) of Hodges, South Carolina. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Brett Hammonds (Sarah), Emily Krudner (Rich), James Price (Sarah), and Thomas Price (Maya), as well as great-grandchildren Finn Hammonds and Miles Krudner. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Alfred A. Price, Jr., and her parents, Walker William Wilson and Janie Lee Crenshaw Wilson. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, located at 3302 US-25, Hodges, SC 29653. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, 810 Maxwell Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646. Doris's warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
