Donnie Carroll “Buck” Kelly October 22, 1944 – July 21, 2023 West Columbia, South Carolina – Donnie Carroll “Buck” Kelly, 78, of West Columbia, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Buck was born in Kershaw County, South Carolina, the son of the late Caldwell William and Mary Elizabeth Peake Kelly. He grew up in Lugoff before eventually settling in West Columbia. He was a skilled carpenter and talented cabinet maker who worked for many builders and construction crews over his 60-year career. Buck’s fondness for hands-on construction never wavered, and he continued working up until his last hospitalization earlier this month for his dear friend Doug Epting at Palmetto Restoration and Upfits, LLC. He enjoyed watching old western movies and never missed a NASCAR race on television, always with his beloved dog, Dixie, by his side. However, Buck’s greatest love – what he enjoyed most – was spending time with his grandchildren. Buck is survived by his sons Michael Richard Kelly, Wayne David Kelly, and Sean Paul Kelly along with Sean’s wife, Cassie; his grandchildren, Hailey, Sutton, Cara and Aiden; his loved ones, Kathleen Kelly, Sabrina Lindemann and her husband, Andrew; his sisters Margie Mitchell and Marie Carroll; his brother, Kevin Kelly; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Paul William Kelly; sisters, Priscilla “Pat” Kelly and Doris Hunter; and brothers, Ronnie “Billy” Kelly and Joseph “PeeWee” Kelly.
