Donald Winfield Scott, 84, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024. He was born in Cranford, New Jersey, on July 15, 1939. He was the son of George Winfield “Bud” Scott and Doris Midgely Scott. Donald had been a resident of the Lowman Home since May 2023. Donald grew up in Cranford, New Jersey and attended Randolph-Macon College in Virginia with a degree in history. Donald was employed for 20 years as a retail sales manager for Miller and Rhodes and Southern Department Stores. He was also in advertising sales with the Progress-Index in Petersburg, Virginia. He later was self-employed as a home repairman. Donald and Evelyn moved to Columbia in 2017 to be closer to family. He enjoyed spending time with family, going out to eat and meeting new people. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Evelyn Grabel Scott; his daughters, Randall Russell (Kelly) and Melissa Steiner (Mitch); his son, T. Winfield Scott; his granddaughters, Teddy Roberts (Hunter) and Cody Russell; his great-granddaughter, Oaklee Roberts; and his sister, Susan Shields. He was preceded in death by his parents.
