The funeral service for Deborah O’Brien Edelmayer, 62, of West Columbia, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening, February 8, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.Burial will follow the service in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Debbie was born on July 20, 1959, in Beaufort, SC to Rubye Lee O’Brien and the late Richard John O’Brien. She was proud to be a Marine Brat, and graduated from Irmo High School in 1977, where she played in the Marching Band. She attended USC and devoted her career to Sadler & Company, Inc. for 35 years, specializing in Sports Insurance.Debbie was a proud mother of two devoted educators, and loved spending time volunteering in their classrooms. She was a member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, sewing, embroidery, playing piano, and singing. Her greatest joy in life was being Nana to her “babies”. Surviving are her loving husband of 23 years, Michael Edelmayer; mother, Rubye Lee O’Brien; daughter, Kathryn Swift (Jon); sons, John Spigner (Kevin Sisson) andAnthony Edelmayer; sisters, Janie Harrison, and Diana Whaley (Jeff); four grandchildren, Colin, Avery, Chance, and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard John O’Brien, and a brother, Billy Barton. Debbie led a compassionate life, always putting others before herself.
