Constantine “Deanie” Angelo Kokolis

Constantine "Deanie" Angelo Kokolis, 79, of Columbia, SC, passed away on February 12, 2025. Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Saturday March 1, 2025 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Bush River Memorial Gardens with entombment to follow. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service in the mausoleum chapel. He was born on February 24, 1945, in Carlisle, PA, to the late Angelo Anthony Kokolis ((June 20, 1901 - January 7, 1968)) from Tarapsa, Sparta, Greece and Potula (Diamondakos) Kokolis, ((November 30, 1915 - December 14, 2010)) of Sparta, Greece Dean was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Nicholas A. Kokolis ((August 25, 1992)) and Anthony A. Kokolis ((January 28, 2024)). He is survived by his sister, Kiki A. Scharff of Dayton, Ohio, as well as many beloved Kokolis cousins, nieces and nephews. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Dean had a deep love for baseball. In 1968, he set out on an unforgettable journey across the country in his classic Chevrolet Malibu convertible, visiting Major League Baseball stadiums along the way. His favorite team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, remained close to his heart, and he cherished every opportunity to see them play. After his travels, he settled in Columbia, SC, in 1971, where he worked alongside his brother, Tony, in liquor sales until 1993. In 1983, while continuing his work in liquor sales, Dean pursued his passion for hospitality by opening Hennessy Restaurant and Lounge, which he successfully operated until 1993. Dean will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, love of sports, and dedication to his family and friends.
