David Miller Nichols Absence from the body, present with the Lord (2 Cor. 5:8). David Nichols now lives forever on July 7, 2022, in a house whose architect and builder is God. We do not look at things which are seen and temporary, but at things which are not seen and eternal (2 Cor. 4:18). David was born by the Boston seaside 78 years ago to Miller and Elizabeth Nichols. He graduated as an architect with honors from Rhode Island School of Design, practicing for 45 years in Columbia. His designs reflected his character and understated natural elegance. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Men’s Friday Bible Study, the Columbia Sailing Club, the Classic Car Club, and the US Dressage Federation. With joyful sadness, David will be missed by his wife, Ginger Nichols; son, Miller Nichols; sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Jeff Leman; brother/sister-in-law, Wayne and Debbie Rogers; and many dear nieces and nephews. Services will be held on July 12th at 11 am at First Presbyterian Church, 1324 Marion Street in Columbia with visitation afterwards in Jackson Hall. Graveside service will follow at Fairfield Memorial Cemetery, 2363 Smallstown Road, Winnsboro. Temples Halloran Funeral Home will attend to all earthly details. Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4b).
