A funeral service celebrating the life of David J. Huntington, 67, of Little Mountain, S.C. was held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, S.C. 29212.Inurnment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. David was born in Columbia, S.C. on March 1, 1954, to the late Lloyd Lee Huntington and Glennette (Wheeler) Huntington.He departed this life on November 17, 2021.David was a graduate of the old Columbia High School, class of 1972, where he played several varsity sports.He was also a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon. David worked for BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina for 47 years. He started in the mailroom and held many roles throughout his career. He most recently served as President and COO of PAI, a subsidiary company of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. David was a longtime musician in the Columbia area playing keyboard and singing lead vocals.His most notable musical contributions included his collaboration in the Huntington-Barber Duo as well as the ever-popular and widely known “Endless Summer Band” where he shared his talents far and wide for over 30 years. Mr. Huntington was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lee Huntington, Fred Stouffer, and Ken Stouffer; sister, Jill Stouffer; nephews, Scott Levkoff and Trey Huntington; and step-father, Donald Stouffer. Those left to mourn David’s death but celebrate his life include his daughter, Lindsay H. McGuire (Matthew) of St. Charles, MN; son, Bryce Sauers of Savannah, G.A.; sisters, Ann Brooks (Reggie) of Zebulon, N.C., Donna Stouffer of Garner, N.C.; and grandchildren, Parker, Lillian, and Grayson McGuire; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Marsha Huntington of Savannah, G.A.
