David Christopher Holmes

The memorial service for David Christopher Holmes, 65, of Blythewood will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 4, 2022, in the chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.The family will receive friends before the funeral service at 1 pm. Mr. Holmes was born on June 6, 1956, in Atlanta, Ga.He was the son of the late Reverend Eugene Holmes and Eleanor Haynes Holmes.Chris was a graduate of Hartsville High School, Class of 1974.He formerly attended Chowan College in NC and Virginia Commonwealth University.Mr. Holmes lived in the Columbia area for many years and later in Blythewood.He was the owner/operator of Advantage sign and Graphics of Elgin.He was active in the United Methodist Men's Club and the Lions Club while living in the Chapin area. Surviving are his daughter, Stephanie Holmes of Manassas, VA; brother, Jonathan Holmes of Buford, GA; brother-in-law, Jason Lavender; nephew, Jonathan Holmes, Jr., and niece, Madison Holmes.Those who preceded him in death were his late parents as well as his twin brother, Reverend Marcus Holmes.
