David Wayne Helms

The funeral service for David Wayne Helms, 62, will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Bredholt officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. before the service. Interment will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens. David was born on February 19, 1960, in Lancaster South Carolina, and departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 10, 2022. He was the son of the late Danny M. Helms and Frances Adams Helms. David was a graduate of Spring Valley High School, class of 1978. He later graduated from Liberty College in Pensacola, Florida. David formerly worked for Piggly-Wiggly stores with his late parents as well as the wholesale produce business. Most recently, he was the owner and operator of Hydrotime Environmental, LLC. Survivors include; his loving wife of 17 years, Christy Dimery Helms; sons, Devin and Garrison Helms; sister, Robyn Lorick (David); niece, Kaitlyn Walsh (Brian); nephew, Michael Lorick; great-niece, Sutton Walsh; great-nephew, Harding Walsh; and beloved family pets; Reilly and Reo. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Danielle. Serving as active pallbearers will be Mike Blease, Mark Crisp, Steve Watts, John McAulay, David Hurt, and Mitch Dimery.
