COLUMBIA—A funeral service for Reverend David N. Haskell, 52, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212, with Pastor Rick Martin, Kelly Marsh, and Reverend James McCrayofficiating.The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019, at the funeral home. David passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.He was born in Columbia, SC, to the late Norman Haskell, Jr. and Linda Parker Haskell.He was a 1985 graduate ofIrmo High School,graduated from North Greenville University and Charleston Southern University.Even though he never served in the US Military, he was a soldier for Christ.David loved people and building and strengthening relationships with people. He had a burden for the lost, loved mission work and was passionate about sharing his faith with the lost.David was a conversationalist, entrepreneur, and opportunist.He was an optimist who lived life to the fullest with a great sense of humor, making instant friends with everyone he met.David was an ordained minister, Bi-Vocational Pastor, Eagle Scout, and church planter in Memphis, IN.He was a former youth minister at Oakview Baptist Church, High Point, NC and Eastview Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC.David was a former employee of Lightuptoys.com. and his last business was Craft Auto Mart in Columbia, SC.David enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Lula.He also enjoyed working on cars, was a die-hard Gamecocks fan, and loved Duke's mayonnaise on everything. Survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Lula Haskell; sister, Lisa Bishop; brother-in-law, Alan Bishop; niece, Abby Bishop; nephew, Michael Bishop, and great-nephew, Harrison Foster; and his adult mentor, Art Whisnant. In lieu of flowers, donations to the General Fund at Navajo Christian Foundation, HCR 63, Box 6047, Winslow, AZ 86047.
