COLUMBIA—A memorial service for David Wayne Allen, 52 of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at River Center at Saluda Shoals Park, 5605 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.The family will greet friends following the service at the park.Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 is assisting the family. Light refreshments will be served after the memorial meeting. David Wayne Allen, beloved husband of Alisa Rene Shell Allen passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 10, 2017.He was born in Crosbyton, TX to the late Jimmy Farest Allen of McAdoo, TX and Norma Kay Singleton Deal of Spur, TX.He lost his fight with pancreatic cancer after more than 2 and a half years. David and Lisa have been married for 31 years. David graduated high school from Bryan Adams in Dallas, TX in 1982. He studied computer science at Eastfield Community College in Mesquite, TX and also at The University of Texas at Arlington.He graduated with a BS in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Dallas in 1999. David earned several academic awards in college. He was employed by Wilson-Moore Oil Tool Supply Co. in Mesquite, TX. He was then employed by Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems (E-Systems) and I2 Technologies, Inc. in the Dallas area. His last employer was Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina. David was an active member of The Church in Columbia, SC and loved the Lord very much. David was saved and baptized during his school-age years. He loved reading the Word of God and the ministry of Witness Lee and Watchman Nee. Throughout his Christian life, he was a pattern to many, both in reading the Word and shepherding the believers in Christ. David also enjoyed camping and hiking. He especially enjoyed time at the Saluda Shoals park. Many times he would go there for prayer and time with the Lord. David was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Allen, all of his grand parents, his cousin Kyle S. Phillips, his brother-in-law Victor L Shell, and his mother-in-law Peggy Belrose. David is survived by his wife Alisa and their son Chris, age 28 and daughter Rebekah, age 23, all of Columbia, SC. He is also survived by his mother Norma Deal (Ronald) of McKinney, TX, his brother W. Mark Allen (Kathy) of Newington, CT and their sons Matthew, Wesley and Jeffrey Allen. His surviving aunts are Edith Griffin, Lanel Allen, Sandra Vest, Elaine Phillips, Diane Singleton. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.
