Daniel Lewis “Danny” Bollinger, 61, of Irmo, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023. He was born on January 20, 1962, in Columbia to the late George Voight Bollinger and the late Ethel Marie Bailey Bollinger. Danny was raised in Irmo and was a 1980 graduate of Irmo High School. He spent most of his working life in the heavy equipment business. He was a welder at Owen Steel, then was a parts salesman at American Equipment. Danny’s love of all things John Deere was fulfilled at his job at Van Lott, Inc., as an outside salesman of construction and forestry equipment. The final stop in his career was as a parts salesman at Tidewater Equipment. His favorite times in life were spent with his brother and nephew in “the shop.” He was meticulous and detail-oriented. His rugged exterior was balanced with a kind and loving heart. Danny is survived by his daughter, Amanda Corsi (Alexander); his sister, Sherrie Bollinger; his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lever Bollinger; and nieces and nephews, Michael Bollinger, Kayla Bollinger, Christopher Johnson, and Rebekah Johnson. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, George Scott Bollinger. The funeral service for Danny is planned for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023, in the Temples-Halloran Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Bill Childs will officiate. The family will greet friends before the service from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
