A graveside service for Clara Pauline "June" Mattox, 83, of Lexington,will be held at St. Alban's Episcopal Church Cemetery, 403 Park Road, Lexington, SC 29072 on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Father Tom DiMarco will officiate. June was born July 20, 1937, in Winnsboro, SC, and passed away January 31, 2021, at Lexington Medical Center. June was the daughter of the late Reverend Dolphus L. Mattox and Clara Mae Hinson Mattox.A longtime member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild and Vestry as well as a member of the choir.June was also a member of the Lexington Choral Society and active in the Village Theater in Lexington and a proud graduate of University High School.June had an uncanny ability to play the trumpet with her mouth without the aid of a real trumpet.She retired from Bell South. To know June was to love her.She never met a stranger. Survivors include sisters, Linda M. Jaco (Tommy) of Gilbert, and Wanda M. Grant (John) of Cayce; sisters-in-law, Eva Mattox of Georgia, and Connie Mattox of West Columbia.Along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, cousins, friends, and longtime friend and roommate Roz McNuer.She was predeceased by brothers,Dickie, Jackie, Bobby, Mark, and sister, Bernice Douglas.
