Clara W. “Scottie” Dickinson passed away on October 9th, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born on September 5th, 1934 in Mullins, South Carolina, to the late Edward Carroll White and Clara Brailsford Byrd. Scottie moved to Columbia to work for the South Carolina Highway Department, which she retired from in 1988. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Hardage “Sonny” Dickinson and her niece, Clara “Lynne” Rogers. Scottie also leaves behind a large and loving family: Ricky, Erin, Victoria, Jacob, and Joshua Ladd; Morgan, Tracy, Peyton, Ashton, and Bella Brick; Ben and Cheri Lewis; Sonny “Brice” Dickinson; Robin and Bobby Bethea; Andrew and Noah Starling; Tanya, Skyler, Madison Wheeler; Larry and Arden McIntyre, their children and grandchildren; and Kay Dingley and her children and grandchildren. Scottie was preceded in death by her parents, sons: William Liston “Bill” Tanner and Robert Hardage Dickinson, Jr., and her sister: Carolyn White Rogers. The family will receive friends at 1:00pm on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 in the chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina, 29212. Services will be held at 2:00pm in the chapel with interment to follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at 4:30 pm at Dupre’s 300 Senate, 316 Senate Street, Columbia, South Carolina, 29201.
