Chester Belcher, 87, went to his everlasting rest on September 22, 2021.Born in Mullins, WV, he was the son of the late Herbert Belcher and Faye Laxton Belcher.Known by all his friends as “Sam”, he is survived by his sons, Chester Lee Belcher II “Sam” and Nathan Matthew Belcher “Matt” and his grandson Miller Ethan Belcher “Ethan”. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Betty Ann Miller, he entered the United States Air Force, in which he served for twenty-five years with many decorations and tours in Korea and Vietnam.After retiring from the Air Force, he would go on to work at the US Postal Service and ultimately finished his career as the Assistant Director of Logistics at Fort Jackson. His family was always his top priority, and his favorite things in the world were pecan pie and deer hunting with his best friend, Randy.Sam never met a stranger, and his character and kindness were a true inspiration to all that knew him.
