Charles Lester Talbert

Charles Lester Talbert, 83, of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. He was born on March 3, 1940, in Edgefield, SC, to Harold Judson Talbert, Sr. and Louise Stack Talbert. Charles was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church. Charlie worked for Capital Electric Supply Company for 44 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching all South Carolina Gamecock sports. Charlie was a member of Gideons International - Irmo Camp. He loved his family and he never met a stranger. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Virginia Christopher Talbert; his daughter, Louise Talbert Monts; and his son, Charles C. Talbert (Kimberly). He is also survived by his sister, Linda Heath (Jimmy); his brother, Ralph Talbert (Linda); his grandchildren, Alex Talbert, Kama Monts, Elizabeth Talbert, Taylor Monts, Bailey Talbert, and Amelia Talbert; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by his sister, Anne Drawdy; his brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Bunie Talbert and his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Paul West. A funeral service for Mr. Talbert will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., at Riverland Hills Baptist Church. The Reverend Bill Haselden will officiate. The family will greet friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum will follow the service.
