Charles E. Sims, 62, of Columbia, went home to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, January 25, 2019. Born February 10, 1956, he was the son of Rosa Bell Sims and William Perkins, who preceded him. Charles loved and adored his wife of 37 years, Frances LaBord Sims and his son, Chazz (Kathleen) of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Frances, Chazz, Kathleen, and his family will miss him immensely. He enjoyed a career as a computer programmer analyst with various companies in Columbia and recently worked with Wal-Mart Corp., in Ballentine, SC. He attended Harvest Church in Lexington, SC.Serving the Lord was his focus, studying scripture was his passion, and his walk with Jesus made people love him and the life he lived. Other family members grieving the loss of Charles: two brothers, Primus Sims (Mary), and Thomas Sims (Rhonda); four sisters, Leola S. Taylor (Walter), Dena Sims, Gloria S. Hill (William), O’Linda S. Mack (Carlton); a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.Preceding him in death, his brother, Louis D. Sims. The family will greet friends on Friday, February 1, 2019, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.A Celebration of Life Service for Charles will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Harvest Church, 4865 Sunset Boulevard, Lexington, SC 29072. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials in Charles’ honor to Child Evangelism Fellowship of S.C.
