Charles R. "Rick" Hewitt

Charles Richard “Rick” Hewitt, 69, of West Columbia, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023. Born in Camden, SC, on December 29, 1953, he was the son of the late Charles Clinton Hewitt and Frances Goude Hewitt. Rick was educated in the Kershaw County school system and graduated from Camden High School. He worked at Krispy Kreme. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Grace Hewitt; his mother, Frances Goude Hewitt; his stepdaughter, Grace Peralta (Ernesto); his sons Craig Hewitt (Crystal), Dylan Hewitt (Toni) and daughter, Christie Grantham; and siblings: Sheryl Gleaton (Myron), Carol Hicks (Bill) and Byron Hewitt (Janet). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ernie, Zachary, Jacob, Landen, Sydney, Madeline, Levi, Ellie Grace, Ellington, Emerson, Cade, and Lake. He was predeceased by daughter Kim Hewitt, grandchildren: Carma Mitchell, Parker and Haley Hewitt. A funeral service for Rick will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, in the Chapel at Temples-Halloran Funeral Home (5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212). Burial will follow the service in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Pastor Derrick Proctor will be officiating.
