Charles "Charley" E. Butler

COLUMBIA—Charley Butler, 65, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 31, 2016. Born on November 25, 1950, Charley was a member and Deacon at New Heights Church. Charley was a loving husband and father; served his country in the United States Marine Corps; a former Deacon at Crescent Hill Baptist Church. Charley retired from the University of South Carolina. Charley is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Linda; daughter, Victoria (Mike) Waleke of Portland, OR; brothers, Ted Butler and Victor Butler; grandson, Wyatt Waleke. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 5, at Crescent Hill Baptist Church, located at 2659 Two Notch Rd at 11 a.m., with Pastor Mike Townsend officiating. The family will receive friends prior to service from 10-11 a.m. Entombment to follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road. Temples Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family.
