Charles W. Boozer

A Celebration of Life service for Charles “Charlie” or “Sonny” Boozer, 78, of Cayce, will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 10, 2022, in the Chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Horne will officiate. The family will greet friends from 1 pm – 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will follow at a later date. Charlie was born on October 2, 1943, in Summerville, South Carolina to Nell Cunningham Boozer and the late Charles W. Boozer, Sr. He graduated from Dreher High School in 1962 where he played football and ran track. After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Charlie was incredibly kind and loving, a servant to his core. He liked to make those around him laugh and smile. He enjoyed watching and talking about Gamecock sports, the Atlanta Braves, and New York Yankees. He also liked playing and coaching softball in the Columbia area. Charlie loved the Lord and his faith sustained him throughout his life. Charlie is survived by his mother, Nell Boozer, his siblings: Joni Joye, Alton Boozer (Vicki), Cindy Beaulieu (Barry), Teresa McGuire (Patrick), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Boozer Johnston. Charlie loved his fellow veterans and because of this, we request memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation in his honor.
