Charles Arthur "Chuck" Curl

July 22, 1936 — April 20, 2024

Charles Arthur “Chuck” Curl, 87, of Lexington, met his Savior and Lord face-to-face and rejoined Katie, the love of his life for 63 years, on Saturday, April 20, 2024. He was born on July 22, 1936, in Akron, Ohio, to Mark and Evelyn Curl. He is survived by sons Mark (Wendy) and John (Sandy) and daughter Deborah Chase (Scott) along with grand-daughter Haley. Chuck graduated from Cuyahoga Falls (Ohio) High School (Class of 1954) and from Kent State University in June 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture. He then enlisted in the US Army Reserves where he served for six years and was honorably discharged. In November 1960, he married the girl next door. His professional career was in construction product sales, working for several major corporations including Armco Steel and Brunswick Corporation. He transitioned into local commercial Design/Build Companies including Stanley Smith and Sons, RC Steel, SBC Construction, and Structioneers. He retired in 2010. Chuck was a longtime member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church where he served for many years as a greeter. He was elected onto the Deaconate where he served one term as Chairman. He loved the Lord, trusted in His timing for his life, and found purpose in sharing his faith with those around him. He prayed fervently for others, which was both a ministry and gift. As a sports car enthusiast he competed and enjoyed autocross, SCCA regional and national road races on tracks in the southeastern United States and enjoyed SCCA and NASCAR photography. Great memories were made camping with wife Katie and the children! A memorial service for Chuck will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Joshua M. Knox will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift to Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. https://cornerstonesc.org/giving
