Catherine Keels Griffith

Longwood, FL—Catherine “Cathy” Keels Criffith, 64, of Longwood, FL formerly of Columbia SC passed away on November 29, 2016 in Altamonte Springs, FL. Cathy was born December 13, 1951 to the late John D Keels, Jr. and Betty Keels. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years Shep Griffith, her son, Shep Griffith III, daughter, Katie Garlinger (Steve) and granddaughters, Grace and Katelin that she cherished and they lovingly called her Gigi. In addition Cathy is survived by two brothers, John D. Keels III (Angie) andBurnell Keels (Mary). Jane Keels the wife of her late father became a special blessing in Cathy’s life. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Betty Jo Walker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Hospice of the Comforter , 480 West Central Pkwy, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 or to St Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1715 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1715 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Reverend Dr. Tony Metze will officiate. A visitation will follow after the service in the Good Shepard Room at the church. Cathy was a kind, gentle woman loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
