Carolyn A. Stutler Braun, 81, of Chapin, SC passed away on December 7, 2020, at Prisma Heart Hospital. She was born in Covington KY to Irvin and Catherine Stutler.She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, and kept in regular contact with her friends, even after moving to SC in 1975.While raising her family, she was an active bowler and euchre card player.She was also a Kentucky Colonel, the highest title of honor bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky. In SC, she was an IT Security Manager and retired from Colonial Life Insurance Company after 20 years of service.She, Max, and various friends and relatives spent the next 15 years traveling the US with a fondness for national parks in the west, and they traveled the northeast down through Florida, and all across the gulf.They were also in Canada and visited England, Wales, and Ireland. Golf was always a favorite pastime, and she and Max played with Mid Carolina Golf Club couples and the SC Seniors Golf Association.She played with the Ladies Golf Association of Mid Carolina and the Sandlappers Ladies where she was the secretary and treasurer. She leaves behind a large family...her loving husband of 63 years, Max Braun, and 7 children, Anita Crim (Eddie), Terri Davis (Joey), Jeanne Eaton, Mike Braun, Tom Braun (Kathy), Nancy Johnston, and Paula Schuler. She was Grandma to 12 grandchildren and Gigi to 8 great-grandchildren. She was also very close to her 3 sisters, Janet Tieman, Joan Weiss, and Margie Banta. Her biggest joy was always her family and especially the grandchildren.There was never a game of any kind where she did not participate.She was a champion of everything from Uno, Monopoly, dominoes, up to and including Pie Face.She shied away from nothing and would do anything the children asked of her, with pictures of her doing cannonballs off the swimming pool diving board as evidence. She was a great cook and passed down numerous family recipes.There were lots of creative meals when you were feeding a family of 9 on a regular basis.She ran a household where everyone had their chores and no one failed to perform.She will be missed by so many of all ages. The family will have a private memorial service and celebration of her life in the near future.
