Carol Joy Knizek Irmo—A memorial service for Carol Joy Knizek, 49, of Irmo, will held Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Chapin United Methodist Church, 415 Lexington Ave., Chapin, SC 29036.Officiating will be Reverend Jody Flowers.The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, she is the daughter of Lister Protain and the late Yvonne Protain.Carol was a member of the Chapin United Methodist Church and was employed with the North West Family YMCA.Other than her friends and family her passions were voice overs and crafting. Survivors are a loving husband of 20 years, Karl Knizek; sons, Karl Lister Knizek and Chase Adam Knizek, of home; sisters, Christine Ledee and Janeen Protain both of Long Island, NY; brothers, Mark Protain of Long Island NY and Neil Protain of Mooresville, NC; as well as 7 nieces and 5 nephews. Carol has touch a countless number of lives, and she was a friend to all that met who her. She spent the last 11 years of her life battling cancer and as a volunteer for “Friends for Life”, helping new cancer patients coping with their new disease.
