A memorial service for Carol Johnson Buckwalter, 74, of Columbia, S.C., will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 24, 2021, at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel.Dr. Perry Bowers will officiate.The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. Carol was born as Linda Carol Johnson, in Winston-Salem, N.C., to the late James (Jimmy) Floyd Johnson, and the late Sylvia Elizabeth (Betty) deBeck Johnson. She was a 1964 graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School where she was, among other things, a flag bearer and a member of the magnificent Reynolds High School chorus.Carol worked for Forsyth Memorial Hospital and as an Office Manager for Norman Stockton in Winston-Salem before moving to Columbia, S.C., where she worked as an Office Manager in Commercial Real Estate.She was an avid South Carolina Gamecock Fan who loved and adored her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Surviving are her husband David Buckwalter, her children Eric James, and Amy Sizemore (M.J.), her stepdaughter, Alfie Hipps (Gabe); her brother, James Edward Johnson, sisters, Dianne Johnson Bradley (Mark), Laura Johnson Holzbaur (Bruce), and brother, Lawrence Chace Johnson (William); grandchildren, Bobby, M.J., Stryker, Nautis, and Rebel Sizemore, Bryson and Edie Hipps; nephews, Tom Johnson and Chris Holzbaur; nieces, Dianne Johnson Bolton (Chris), and Shannon Elizabeth Lindsay (Ryan). Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her son Bobby James, her stepdaughter Suzy Lemons, and her sister-in-law Pat Johnson.
