Carlton Betenbaugh

George Carlton Betenbaugh, also known as G.C, passed away on December 23rd, 2017, in Irmo, South Carolina at the age of 83.He was a former editor of the Daily Mountain Eagle and long-time staff member to U. S. Congressman Tom Bevill and U. S. Senator Howell Heflin. Carlton is survived by his wife, Marion Singley Betenbaugh, and his children, Judy, Michael, Ann Pause, and Tim and Susan Sturgeon, and grandchildren, Mitchel, Rosa, and Michael and Hannah Pause.A celebration of his life is being planned for the spring. Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 is assisting the family.
