Billie Linker Faggart

January 30, 1937 — November 26, 2024

Billie Linker Faggart, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 26, 2024, after complications from surgery.

Celebration of Life services will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Grace Point Presbyterian Church Irmo with Pastor Keith Kneeshaw officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from Noon until 1:00 pm at the church.

Billie was born on January 30, 1937, and raised on a farm outside of Harrisburg, NC, she was sister to Paul “Buddy” Linker, Jeanette Lefler, Pattie Light and Dale Ritchie. She attended Winecoff High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Tommy Faggart, embarking on a life as a minister’s wife in the united Methodist Church. Along with “mothering” hundreds of UMYF children as a counselor over the years she was the beloved mother of Tommy “Toby” (Ronda), Sabrina Ballenger (Randy), Scott (Sandra) and Shannon Massey (Ed). A wonderful Grandmother to Brett, Bryan, Tyler, Danielle, Paul, Caleb and Sam and a doting great-grandmother to Beau, Harper, Asa, Haylee Billieanne, Aiden and Lucy.

Billie’s life was centered on children and young adults. She had an innate way of interacting with young people, successfully mentoring, guiding and bringing joy to the lives of countless many. In the last few years as” Mamaw, she enjoyed spending time with her youngest great, Aiden, in teaching him, as she did with all her grands and greats, to “smell the flowers.” She also enjoyed traveling with family to Cozumel, Key West and Emerald Isle. Prior to his passing, you’d often find her accompanying her oldest son, Toby, chasing sunsets on his pontoon boat at Lake Gaston. And lately, taking weekends with Scott to Hilton Head, beach sitting with a glass of wine and sunshine. Billie was a great example of an “Overcomer”, meeting life’s adversities with a strong faith, a mischievous sense of humor and by remaining grounded in her family.

Temples-Halloran Funeral Home proudly serves the Faggart family in their time of grief.
