BETTY ROSE LEE SULLIVAN, of Lexington, was born in Columbia, SC on December 6, 1938 and graduated from Millburn High School in New Jersey in 1956. Betty was a member of 4H for 5 years and represented Dairy Lea as Queen in 1955. Betty married Charles Gary Sullivan on December 6, 1958. They had 5 children, Rene’ Shull (Wayne), John Sullivan (Amy), Tara Amick Young, (Roger), Gina Mahoney (Danny), Carl Sullivan (Sandra). The grandchildren are: Erin Shull Hynum (Daniel), Meghan Shull Blackburn (Nick), Becca Sullivan, Logan Sullivan, Alexandra Amick, Bailey Amick Jaramillo (Nestor), Shannon Mahoney Cottrell (Thomas), Maggie Mahoney, Daniel Mahoney, Cara Sullivan Branham (Dustin) Zac Sullivan, Napoleon(Brianna), Paris Richardson. Great-grandchildren: Rigdon Hynum, Clara Hynum, Addisyn Blackburn and Ellamie Branham, Leeloo Branham, Dustin Branham, Jr. Betty was an Administrative Secretary working for United Life Insurance Company, Cadre and Lexington Presbyterian Church. She was Radio and TV Research Coordinator for Arbitron Research. She served as Food Service Coordinator for Lexington Baptist Church. Betty was a member and served the organization at Columbia Intergroup, Region and World Service and in many other positions in OA. Betty served others all her life and was young at heart and welcoming to everyone she met. Cooking food and feeding others was her love language. She also was a counselor to many and used her faith in God and scriptures to help others in their walk of faith. She was a member of Lexington Presbyterian Church. Betty was the youngest daughter of Gertrude Stukes Lee and George Washington Lee, both deceased. She was predeceased by her sisters Louise Reed Odom, Inez Lee Miller, Oneil Lee Areheart, Lucy Lee Tardif, Christine Lee Morell, Winifred Hicks Lokerson, Jo Ann Gibbons Crews and brother Rufus Edward Lee. A Celebration of Life for Betty will be held on Thursday, April 27th at 4PM at Lexington Presbyterian Church (246 Barr Road, Lexington, SC 29072). Family and friends will be received at a Reception/Visitation immediately following at Tomlin Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Lexington Presbyterian Church “Faith, Promise, Giving” Fund.
