COLUMBIA—A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Mrs. Bennie Reneau Beacham, 81, of Columbia, at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Columbia in Boyce Chapel, 1306 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC 29201.Reverend Steve Phillips will officiate.Burial will be private.The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Mrs. Beacham, beloved wife of the late Reverend James L. Beacham, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014.Born in Shreveport, LA, she was the daughter of the late Ovie Alton Reneau and Annie Lee Walker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia and the Bible Survey Class.Foremost she was a preacher’s wife, and assisted her husband as he needed. She served along beside her husband, when he was Camp Director from 1964-1974 at McCall Royal Ambassador Camp and from 1977-1992, when he was Director at White Oak Conference Center. Both were formed by the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Surviving are her daughter, Ruth Ann B. Shuler (Vic) of Columbia; son, James L. Beacham, Jr. (Miriam) of Columbia; aunt, Juanita W. Bickham ( Jack) of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Jimmy Beacham (Lindsey), Rachel Cubbage (Ryan) and Mark A. Beacham and two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Harper Beacham.
