Benjamin Felder McGee

February 5th, 1928 – December 21st, 2024

Columbia, South Carolina – B.F. McGee, 96, passed away peacefully on December 21st, 2024 at Lexington Medical Center.

The funeral service for B.F. McGee, 96, of Columbia, will be held on Saturday, January 11th, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Private inurnment will follow in Bush River Memorial Garden, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. The Reverend Adam Williams will officiate.

Mr. McGee was born in Saluda, SC on February 5, 1928, to the late Benjamin Frontis McGee and Corrie Lynette McGee. Mr. McGee's diverse careers included franchisee of a fast food restaurant to a record setting salesman for Sears. He always enjoyed his time on Lake Murray boating with his family, teaching many people to ski and pulling his Grandkids in the tube. He had many fond memories from fishing with friends and most especially fishing with his daughter Laura. He was often found either in his shop making or fixing furniture and appliances or in the garden where he would be tending to the yard, rose bushes and vegetable garden. He dedicated much time to service at First Baptist Church of Columbia ushering on many Sundays and at special events. He took pride in being a part of various property maintenance teams and committees.

Survivors include his beloved daughters, Karen Robertson of Chapin, and Laura Meyer (Chris) of Atlanta, GA; sister Jeanette Coulter (Jerry); grandchildren, Benjamin Robertson (Maddi), Braxton and Landon Meyer. Those who preceded him in death besides his parents include his wife of 67 years Eloise, and his sisters Josephine White and Lavenia Jackson.

His family would like to thank the staff of Laurel Crest and Lexington Medical for the loving and kind care they showed BF.
