Barry Dean Baker

December 11, 1961 — April 18, 2024

Barry Dean Baker, 62, of Little Mountain, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024. He was born in Sherman, Texas, on December 11, 1961, to Katherine Kay Smith Baker and the late Joseph Marvel Baker. Barry was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1980. He worked in construction and was a big part of the family-owned business, The Ole Oak Barn that he actually helped build from the ground up. Barry was a Dallas Cowboys fan and spent many of his last days watching football games with his daughter even though she’s a 49’er fan. He loved the outdoors, whether it was mowing the lawn or doing his favorite thing, riding around the property on the golf cart with his grandsons. He lived a full life that included many adventures with his family hiking, skiing, scuba diving, camping, traveling, and boating. Barry is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Michelle Kaye Baker; his mother, Katherine Kay Smith Baker; his daughters, Samantha Kaye Cox (Justin) and Kristiana Francesca McGill (Mark); his sons, Brandon Baker (Tarra), David Baker (Ashley), Jonathan Baker (Alexis) and Zachary Harding; and his fourteen grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Kimberly Kay Bercier; Jennifer Leigh Sanchez; Jeffrey Baker; and Curt Baker. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Marvel Baker. A Celebration of Life was held at The Ole Oak Barn on Barry’s birthday, December 11, 2023, where Barry was surrounded by his closest friends and family. No other services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Celebrate Recovery, c/o Chapin Baptist Church, 950 Old Lexington Hwy, Chapin, SC 29036 or the American Brain Tumor Association (https://www.abta.org/
